The goal of this assignment is to explain the most important lesson we should take from Zeitoun's experience as we think through future climate catastrophes.


Questions

How does the book Zeitoun change the way we should think about future disasters? What do we learn from the text about how New Yorkers should prepare themselves personally, emotionally, and financially?

Assignment Description

Students will use textual evidence from Zeitoun to back up their claims and arguments. Students can argue that multiple lessons should be taken from Zeitoun's experience - they are encouraged to see the issue as "complex" rather than simple.
