Class Agenda

1. Reading Quiz on pages 36-49. (1-1.15)

2. Quick scan: class blogs (1:20-1:35): Amir, Nazneen, Sanjida.

3. Quick take: I'll call on three students to identify at least three key passages from the reading. Brief discussion of passages on smart board. Class should identify at this point how any "science" could be included in the First Essay Assignment. (1:35-2)

4. Summary: review strategies (2-2:10); go over what strategies you use when you read. Go over what the best strategies are.

4. Summarize in practice: summarize the chapter in your notebook. (2:10-2:30)

5. Share your summary: let another student review your summary. Student will respond IN your notebook with at least sentences stating whether or not you successfully incorporated all the main ideas of the chapter into your summary. If the summary is incomplete, the student will remind you what to add. If the summary is complete, the student will write down which idea they personally find the most interesting.  (2:30-2:45)
