Diagnostic Evaluation: Grading Grid


1. Thesis/Focus: Contains a central assertion that places a central idea at the forefront of the response (related to the most important thing about Hurricane Sandy; focus answers the main question posed by the assignment  (30%)

2. Structure: diagnostic organized around support for central idea; paragraphs are organized around that support; diagnostic explains main idea and examples (30%)

3. Evidence: diagnostic successfully gives credible evidence for its ideas and claims; appropriately alludes to video, class discussion, or personal experience (20%)

4. Critical Thinking: diagnostic offers original ideas that go beyond class discussion; it fully explains the ideas it proposes by defining and explaining them (20%)
